Lord of the Wind and Waves

This is the first of Jesus' "nature miracles" in Mark, a type of miracle distinguished from healings, exorcisms, and raising the dead, where Jesus demonstrates authority over the forces of the natural world. And, throughout this particular story of stilling of the storm, Mark gives clues that the purpose of the miracles is for the disciples.
