Removing the Veil

The midpoint climax of the Gospel According to Mark is the transfiguration of Jesus Christ. This is the miracle of no comparison. Now, the veil over Jesus’ divine glory is lifted and the “inner circle” of disciples—Peter, James, and John—are given a glimpse of his true glory, the glory that will be revealed after his resurrection and even more fully when he returns to judge and to save.
