Jesus silenced the religious leaders who tried to trap him, now he turns the tables on them with the "question of the day", a riddle about the Messiah as the “son of David.” The question then is a question today, a distorted view of who Jesus is and what he has done would always lead anyone to a wrong gospel, that which cannot save. In this episode, the Messiah is much more than the traditional Jewish expectations about him.
