Our Blessed Hope

Jewish eschatology anticipates a time when the present age dominated by evil, an “age of wickedness”, will give way to the age to come, when God’s reign will be undeniable and “every knee shall bow” (Isa. 45:23). The Christian twist on this posits a two - stage turning of the ages. On the one hand, the earthly life, death, and resurrection of Jesus mark the beginning of the age to come. On the other hand, the present age continues until the second coming of Jesus, when the reign of God will be finally and fully realized.
